Warrior hockey podcast debuts
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Merrimack hockey joined the podcast revolution today with the debut of the Merrimack Warrior Hockey Podcast. It is believed to be the first podcast of its kind related to NCAA hockey.
The debut podcast features a 22-minute interview with new Warrior head coach Mark Dennehy, recorded on August 2, 2005. In the interview, Dennehy discusses his background and coaching philosophy as he takes the reins of the Merrimack hockey program.
Listeners can subscribe to the free podcast through the links provided at http://www.warriorhockey.org . Using iTunes 4.9 software, available at http://www.apple.com for the PC and Mac, a listener can subscribe to the feed and receive regular notifications of new podcasts as they become available. With an iPod or other music player, listeners can also sync their player with iTunes and listen to podcasts wherever and whenever they like.
The Merrimack Warrior Hockey Podcast is available through the iTunes Music Store, accessible from iTunes under the Podcast section. Click on the "Subscribe with iTunes" image on the front page of warriorhockey.org, or go to the iTunes Music Store and search on "Warrior Hockey".
According to Apple, the iTunes Music Store now features over 6,000 podcasts from a variety of major and independent providers, including ESPN Radio, ABC News and more. In the first two days after the debut of the iTunes Podcast Directory in late June, listeners subscribed to more than one million podcasts.
The Warriors begin their 50th season as a varsity program in 2005. Merrimack will open with road games at Bowling Green and Michigan on Oct. 14 and 16, and returns home for the home opener against Connecticut on October 21.
