I just received my Malden Catholic Amumni newsletter and it mentions the hiring of Serino as AD and head hockey coach.
Here's a link to the story from the MC website

I've talked to kids who have gone to big-time schools, the Michigans of the world and BUs. When they leave there, they might have won something, but they don't leave there with the feeling that I have. At Merrimack, they care about you more than just as a player, more than just somebody that can get you a victory."

Head coach Chris Serino resigns

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Christie Serino, interim athletic director and head hockey coach, has resigned from Merrimack College, effective June 30, 2005, it was announced today by Merrimack President Richard J. Santagati. Serino has accepted the position of athletic director and head hockey coach at Malden Catholic High School, a private, Catholic school in Malden, Mass. A search for both positions will resume immediately.

Serino led Merrimack hockey for seven years, and served as interim athletic director since 2002. He joined Merrimack College in April 1998, becoming the sixth coach in the 44-year history of the hockey program. As head hockey coach, Serino led Merrimack to six trips to the Hockey East playoffs prior to the 2004-2005 season. The team faced a disappointing season this year and did not make a playoff berth. Serino's overall record at Merrimack is 78-149-27.

Serino has played an important role in fund-raising efforts for Merrimack's athletic program and has been instrumental in the development and progress of the S. Peter Volpe Athletic Center renovation project. With Serino's input and leadership, the college's Volpe Center has undergone extensive renovations, adding luxury boxes, a spacious hockey locker suite, a VIP room for the Blue Line Club and other improvements.

"Chris Serino has made many strong and significant contributions to Merrimack College and its hockey program," said Richard J. Santagati, Merrimack president. "He has coached and mentored many of our student-athletes, instilling in them the value of education and community service that Merrimack stands for. We have been fortunate to have him as a member of the Merrimack community for the past seven years. We wish him all the luck in the world as he moves on to this new endeavor."

Serino, a former three-sport All-Scholastic (football, hockey and baseball) at Saugus, Mass. High School, came to Merrimack after seven seasons at the University of New Hampshire. He served at UNH as an assistant hockey and head baseball coach. Prior to that, Serino spent three seasons as the head coach for the Northfield Mount Hermon hockey program.
